3DSecure is a security measure developed by the leading credit card issuers to ensure that all credit card use is monitored for fraud.
Differing issuers have given this measure differing names. VISA refer to it as Verified By VISA and MasterCard use “MasterCard SecureCode”.
You’ve probably come across it before, and normally if takes the form of a requirement to enter random characters from a password before payment is authorised.
3DSecure as a tool to detect fraud is so highly trusted by the issuers that they’ve agreed to a 100% liability shift for fraudulent transactions.
What this means is that if the given card supports 3DSecure, and the payment is routed through the 3DSecure system (which all Tascuro.com payments are), then the card issuer will assume liability for ANY fraudulent transactions; so you won’t end up out of pocket. If the card doesn’t support 3DSecure then we’ll soon offer the ability to automatically decline these cards (but note that this can have an adverse affect on genuine customers with unsupported cards).
